Last weekends Easter Fairy/Cup cakes

So which is it?
I've been baking a lot of cakes recently. Not good for the waist line but excellent for the soul. They come quite high up in my list of comfort food. I love the look of them with pretty coloured icing, all the varieties of sprinkles. Then when I bite into one the creamy taste of the butter melting in my mouth takes me right back to those days when I baked them as a child with my mum on a Saturday afternoon. The problem I have though is what do I call them? We have always referred to them as Fairy Cakes but over the last few years everyone seems to have changed to use the American name of Cupcakes. I Googled both and it seems it can be either name depending on whether you wan to be British or American. I quite like both names but I think the males in my house prefer to call them Fairy cakes. They say is because cupcakes are the size of muffins and mine aren't and also we're British so shouldn't copy the Americans. What do you call them?

Bath Part 2
I made the mistake as we entered the Cath Kidston shop of recounting to OH about the blog I had read recently how one of the shops had not let them take photo's inside. My apologies to the blogger who wrote it (it could have been Sal's Snippet's). Anyway as we were waiting for a much need meal to be placed in front of us later that day, I started to browse the snaps he had taken throughout the day. You can imagine my horror when I saw the photo's below of the store. Next time I go into one of their shops I'm going to leave him outside or even at home!

I love the city and would love to return soon. To think that my ancestors once walked the same streets, looked up at the the same buildings and called Bath home made it extra special for me. I am still trying to find out more about my family from this area. My grandmother was Daisy Mabel Stokes and her father was Edward Stokes. Edward from what I find out came originally from Frome. Next time I think we must call in there too.

A walk around Bath
I last went here 15 years ago. We were living in France at the time and when OH said he had to go to the University of Bath for a week. The boys and I didn't need asking twice if we wanted to go with him. It was a wonderful time and we got to explore the city and the surrounding area.
I always knew that my paternal grandmother came from Bath but never really thought much all about it until recently when I was looking in to the family tree. I discovered that she was living in the city as a young girl with her father and three sisters. I couldn't find the street on any maps were they used to live 'Paradise Street' and suspect it no longer exists. However when asked where did I want to go for the Easter break Bath was my first choice.

Training

Harley seems to have taken over the homestead. I bought a lovely furry basket for him to sleep in but the only cat sleeping in it is a toy one. He prefers to sleep on one of our chairs or the even the floor next to said basket. He wakes in the middle of the night by jumping on the bed and lying on top of us and loves to follow us around. Have you seen the book 100 Ways for a Cat to Train Its Human

More National Trust
We recently visited Smallhythe, on a lovely March afternoon. It is very pretty from the outside but I didn't enjoy the inside very much.
We then went on to Sissinghurst. Now this property is lovely gardens and an excellent restaurant. Well worth a visit.
