A walk around Bath

I last went here 15 years ago. We were living in France at the time and when OH said he had to go to the University of Bath for a week. The boys and I didn't need asking twice if we wanted to go with him. It was a wonderful time and we got to explore the city and the surrounding area.
I always knew that my paternal grandmother came from Bath but never really thought much all about it until recently when I was looking in to the family tree. I discovered that she was living in the city as a young girl with her father and three sisters. I couldn't find the street on any maps were they used to live 'Paradise Street' and suspect it no longer exists. However when asked where did I want to go for the Easter break Bath was my first choice.

Here are the first of many photo's we took whilst we were there.

Hi Rosie
Thankyou for visiting my blog. Your both photographs are stunning. I live only 30 mins away from Bath but have not been there for years (although am agorophobic at the moment). It funny how we often miss our local attractions prefering a lot of the time to visit further afield.

Glad you had a good time in Bath. I lived there many years ago. I am looking forward to being there this coming weekend, but I expect I will not see much outside of the Vintage Fashion Salon!
Hey ho!

Hi Rosie

Paradise Street no longer exists, but was off Wells Road (under the railway bridge and up the hill) and was apparently a steep road adjacent to the old Railway Inn, presumably going down to the Lower Bristol Road. It had already been demolished when I went to live in Bath in the late 1980s.

Isn't family research fascinating. Mine's been on hold for the last few years, but I managed to find out quite a lot over a period of 3 or 4 years.

Glad you had such a lovely time in Bath. Mind you, how anyone can NOT enjoy a visit to Bath beats me!!
